Payment through the Foreign Employment Board will now be made online. By connecting its payment related transactions to the National Payment Interface (NPI) of the Nepal Clearing House, the Board has brought the payment to the automated system. An agreement was reached between the two organizations on Wednesday.
This will ensure that the payment of compensation for workers with disability or death in foreign employment, including vendor payments, will be fully automatic. Prior to this, the entire payment of the board was made through check. With the implementation of the new system, the service flow of the board is expected to improve significantly.
The agreement has been signed by Executive Director Rajan Kumar Shrestha on behalf of the Board and Nilesh Man Singh Pradhan, Chief Executive Officer of NCHL. With the agreement, the Board will be able to make payments directly to the beneficiary's bank account by pairing its internal payment system with the system under NPI.
