The Ukrainian government has created an IT force to fight the Russian military. Ukraine, which is urging its citizens to take to the battlefield, has formed a group of volunteer hackers to conduct cyberattacks against Russian businesses, banks, government agencies, and others.
Even before the war officially broke out, Russia had launched attacks on Ukrainian government bodies, banks, and websites providing digital services. In response, Ukraine has organized a volunteer hacker strategy to attack Russia.
On Saturday, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced on Twitter that an IT force was being formed. He called upon people with digital talent to join the campaign and fight on the cyber front.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Fedorov, such IT forces will be organized in the Telegram chat room, and from there the ‘Operation Task’ will be given.
At present, there are plans to organize cyber experts in the IT army and soon add all the talented people. More than 200,000 people joined the Telegram channel on Sunday itself.
The group’s members were initially tasked with carrying out cyberattacks on the websites of Russian businesses, banks, and government agencies.
The Ukrainian government also plans to target systems of financial institutions, including oil and gas companies and Internet companies.
We are building an IT army. We need digital talent. All operational functions will be given at: https://t.co/Ie4ESfxoSn, There will be work for all. We continue to fight on the cyber front. The first job is on the channel for cyber experts.
