The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has requested not to give information about sensitive issues including your password and OTP code. The bureau made the request in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The bureau said in a statement that it had recently received video, audio and text messages from various social networking sites including WhatsApp, Viber and Emo, asking for mobile banking usernames and passwords, creating fake websites and receiving confidential customer information.
"There is a growing trend of fraudulent deposits at banks and online payment gateways as the lottery is required for tax clearance," he said. The cyber bureau urges the authorities to be vigilant to avoid fraud.
Also, the Cyber Bureau has requested to get information from the information issued by the Department of Payment Systems of Nepal Rastra Bank and the Department of Foreign Exchange Management regarding the risk of conducting financial transactions through electronic medium from time to time.
