A man has been arrested for posting obscene material on Facebook using a photo / video of a Nepali woman studying abroad.
Rupandehi Butwal sub-municipality ward no. 11 Rajan Shrestha, also known as 'Alice', is 25 years old and lives in Devinagar.
According to the police, Shrestha had created a fake profile on Facebook in the name of a young woman living in Australia and posted obscene pictures / videos from the profile and wrote obscene status.
Police also said that the victim's character was killed by sharing it with her relatives and friends.
According to the Cyber Bureau, Shrestha was arrested on Tuesday for committing a crime under the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 BS. According to the bureau, the district court in Kathmandu has extended the time limit by seven days and necessary investigation is being carried out on him.
