Kathmandu. Free internet connection has been provided in more than 15,000 places across the country including local body offices, ward offices, secondary schools and health institutions. The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTAA) has made public the progress details and informed that free internet connection has been provided in 15,089 places across the country by August.
According to NEA, free internet connection has been established in 666 local level offices and 5,555 ward offices across the country.
Similarly, free internet connection has been provided in 4,925 secondary schools and 3,946 health institutions across the country.
NEA had prepared 18 packages for free internet connection in local body offices, ward offices, secondary schools and health institutions across the country and handed over the connection to various internet service providers.
Such bodies can use the connected internet for free for two years.
